Ford Mach-e Touchscreen

Utilizing Ford's foundation, I worked alongside a senior designer to help design and refine touchscreens of electrification information. Our driving goal was to educate new EV drivers and assuage their range anxiety.

Ideation

With limited whiteboard space, we used the wall to brainstorm and map out themes, yielding use cases and rough personas

UX

Wires of the electrification overview from the main menu
Drilling into "EV details" yields multiple tabs of complex but useful information. I created wires for "Activity" tab, which displays"Charging" activity and battery drainage while "Driving." The challenge was in distilling this data and controls-heavy page into consumable chunks while on the go.
Scheduled charging onboarding - instructs new EV drivers how to charge their vehicle overnight while prioritizing efficiency, comfort, and/or electric bill savings.

UI

Scaling back to the essentials

Ford aggressively shifted their timeline to be production ready sooner than previously discussed. Therefore, we functionality was scaled back for handoff. I was tasked with working on UI design for Charge Activity.

Other ideas were slated for future release for once the car hit the market.
